Ways to get involved
We would love your support, there are several ways to get involved with Ella's Home...
An important way to combat the continued exploitation of people is by raising awareness of the issues and to ensure that people are able to highlight any potential victims. If you are interested in having someone speak about the complex issues surrounding trafficking to your school, church or business, please contact us here: email@example.com
Please also raise awareness of Ella’s Home by following/liking/sharing about us on social media.
You can find us here:
Listed below are several other organisations that are combatting trafficking in a variety of ways, such as through raising awareness/education, justice system transformation, and empowerment of women.
The Home Office have setup Modern Slavery, a campaign to raise awareness of the need and what we can do about it.
Fundraising is a great way to raise awareness and funds for Ella’s Home. We have been so grateful to the numerous people who have shown an interest in its important work and begun raising funds on our behalf:
HOW CAN I FUNDRAISE?
Are you musical? You could hold a gig at Kahaila Cafe with proceeds going towards Ella’s Home.
Are you up for a sponsored challenge? You could do the London to Brighton cycle ride, run a marathon or parachute out of a plane and raise money through sponsorship through our Just Giving page.
Do you like baking? You could set up a cake sale in your school/college/place of work with proceeds going to Ella’s Home.
Does the company you work for sponsor charities? Please nominate Kahaila as the charity of choice to support the work of Ella’s Home. Ella’s Home is a project of Kahaila. Charity no: 1138653.
We are grateful to those who have already taken on some of the ideas listed and raised money in the process.
Ella’s Home values the incredible contribution from volunteers without whom we would not be where we are today. We would love for this team to expand and grow to provide as much support to the women at Ella’s Home as possible. Due to the sensitive nature of the work at Ella’s Home, many of these roles will only be available to women, and some may require a long-term commitment to ensure the stability of services provided. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more about any of the roles below:
Befriender: People who are willing to come alongside the women we work with.
Translators: Some of the women we work with do not speak English, so we are always looking for people who can help us translate in informal contexts.
Donate old phones: Do you have a spare mobile phone that you no longer use but is still functional? We would like to have a set of mobile phones available for the women who come and live at Ella’s Home and would appreciate donations to help with this.
Donate or sponser a trip or day out: A lot of what we deal with day-to-day is survival, assisting women to get to a place that they are able to live somewhat independently. Most could never dream of taking a daytrip or spending money going to the cinema or the theatre. These are the type of activities that create new and good memories.
General donations: We’re always so grateful to receive clothes, food, children’s books and toys and other gifts that will help make the reintegration of women and their families more comfortable.
Behind the scenes: There is so much that happens behind the scenes to make Ella’s work happen. If you think you can help in some way, perhaps with some website help, making a video for us or creating a social media campaign please get in touch.
